Who Will You Vote For?

This post is rather out of character for this blog, so if this is your first exposure, please have a look around before you leave.

Our children must be learning about the election in school, because they were asking us who we were going to vote for.  My older son asked, “Are you going to vote for McCain?” and our younger son quickly followed with, “Or will you vote for Abubaba?”  (pronounced AH-Boo-Bah-Bah)!  It was quite entertaining.

I assured them that I wouldn’t be voting for Abubaba (nor will I vote for Obama).  However, I’m not thrilled with either choice and, to be honest, I’ve just about decided that the only real difference in the President is the quality of their Supreme Court appointments.  I will probably vote John McCain, more as a vote against Abubaba than for McCain.

    Abubaba is a cool name, just to beginn with:o) My question is this: what does McCain really stand for and how about Obama?

    In the european press (actually the one in sweden, germany and austria) McCain is portraid having undefined conservative values. A sort of combination of family, guns and war.

    Obama on ther hand is portraid as the one who whants change, whatever that might mean, event though no one seems to have an answer to the question: “change to what?”.

    Given the two pictures I would probably vote (I know, I can´t:o))for Abubaba, more to vote against McCain than for Abubaba.
